I am also seeing this. I went into Chrome Debugger tools, and I can see the (.cfu-post-icon) in the embedded style tag, but it is never used in the document. I have enabled all groups to post, and reply, and am at my wits end trying to figure out this issue. I couldn't find any documentation, so I am not sure if there are other dependencies.

Version information:
Joomla: 3.1.5
ChronoForms: ChronoForums_V1_RC7_J2.5_J3.0

Chonoengine makes great products and I know the new version of the forums may have some problems still. For now, I downloaded the earlier version in the downloads section. I believe RC5. This version seems to work well so far and topic buttons etc are functioning correctly. Not sure of the difference between the 2 versions but if you are having problems with ver7, uninstall it and install ver5.

Hope this helps getting your project moving along.

Have just installed the previous version RC5 and I'm getting the same problem!

Same problem - first topic posted fine although the post button is just a dotted outline after upgrading to RC7. The 2nd topic only shows an "Information" topic with a horizontal rule. It looks exactly like the Information topic on this website on the Login link.

Hello,

The new topic should work fine, just please make sure that you don't do any changes to the default settings after a new install and that you have given proper permissions for users to "make topics" and "make posts".

No denied permissions should be used, never!

Please don't make settings changes before you test the forums, some users may do changes which would make it harder for them to understand how the forum is working later.

Logged in as superuser. All permissions set. Missing new topic button. No buttons at all actually. Just my categories and forums list.

RC7 Joomla3

I reinstalled and still no luck.

I have exactly the same expirence.

Installed V1RC5-J3
New topic and new post function very well.

Update to to V1RC7-J3:
New topic button does not show up. Only "Information" message are shown.

Removed installation and then re-installed without any changes in configuration. Only all permissions set to "allowed".
Same result - no topic button. Only "Information" message are shown.

Joomla: V3.15
Template: Protostar

Any clue?

Best regards, Jørn H.

Hello admin (max).

Please take to heart that if 3 or 4 people complain about the same thing, then chances are 95% there is a problem with your software.

I have just installed latest version to evaluate for pay for subscription, and I encounter the SAME problems as most of these posters.

No topic button to create, and I did a stock standard default install as per your insructions.

I have wasted 2 hours trying to get something going but no success.

I would really like to consider using this, but am being put somewhat by frustrations in getting a very simple example going.

Well...I was able to get RC5 to work. When I loaded RC7, I lost the ability to create Topics. No buttons. I've tried this on both Safari and Chrome and I'm using the latest version of Joomla 2.5.

Is there any progress on this topic?

Hi All,

Please contact me through the "Contact us" page with login to your website so I can check the "new topic" button issue, I will fix the problem and let you know what was it, its nothing with the software, only some misconfig at your end!

Hi all,

Thank you! bug found, I couldn't notice it because I didn't have any empty forums in the dev area, now fixed and you can download and install RC8 OVER yours, which should fix the issue (tested on a user's forum).

Also added a new reply by email feature!
