Hello,
Apologies if these questions have already been answered, but I couldn't find precisely what I was looking for.
I currently have a Chronoforms (v4) form set up on our Joomla website that allows visitors to submit their name and email address in order to be added to our newsletter's mailing list (http://papersofabrahamlincoln.org/newsletters/join-our-mailing-list). Currently, each new submission is emailed to our admin assistant who keeps track of all the email addresses and manually sends out an email every quarter with a link to our newsletter.
What I'd like to be able to do is set it up so that a mailing list can be automatically generated from the table data submitted and then, when ready to send out an announcement about the newsletter, someone can just set up an email from the Joomla backend that goes out directly from the website. How would I set this up?
A second problem is, only a few people on our mailing list are recent enough additions to be in the Chronoforms table. Is there a way--besides entering each name and address through the website form--to add all the existing email addresses to the table data, so that any email sent will go to everyone on our current mailing list (both existing people and new additions added via the website form)?
Many thanks,
Helena

Hi Helena,
I would look at a separate Mailing list option and link that to your ChronoForm. As a Joomla! Extension there is Joobi jNews or externally services likeMailChimp both of which are free at the basic level. (Other similar extensions and services also exist).
The advantage of this is that it takes a lot of the hassle and risk out of running a mailing list. There are FAQs or documents here on linking either of these (and some others) to a ChronoForm so that a subscriber is automatically added to your list.
For your other question - you don't say how the data is currently saved but if it is in a spreadsheet then it is fairly simple to export to a CSV file and load that into a MySQL database table. Note though that some mailing list services require you to have your members re-opt in if you start a new account.
