Load CSS in Yootheme / Warp Framework

zuuuuttttttttttt 22 Jun, 2013
Hello.
I´ve searched for hours now but can´t find the answer:
I´m running Chronoforms V4 in my Joomla Warp Framework / Yootheme Master Theme.
In the "real" Frontend my template doesn't load the Chronofroms CSS.
Does anybody had experience with that issue and can help me out?

Seems to be a bit tricky because Chronoforms is not using a css but a css.php file...

Best regards

Hi smint,

The ChronoForms CSS files are loaded by the Show HTML action using the standard Joomla! code for loading files into the form header. If this isn't happening it's usually a sign that the template doesn't include the code to add the header files.

Hey Bob,
thanks for your answer.
But what does this mean to me? Is there a way to solve this?
Or does it mean that Chronoforms is just not working in Yootheme / Warp tempates?

I´m a bit confused - sorry.

Hi smint,

It means that your Template doesn't support the standard Joomla methods for loading CSS and JavaScript files. That would be odd but it has happened.

ChronoForms will work OK provided that the files are loaded.

The quick check would be to switch temporarily to a default template and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't then there is some other problem.

Hey Bob,

I tested this.
Unfortunately I have the same issue with a Joomla standard template (beez).
The CSS is not loading.

UUUH

now I know what I did wrong.

To show the form in Frontend, I copied the htlm code into an article.
Im my menu I created a menu entry type "show single article".

That was the fault.

Now I created a menu entry type "Chronoforms Display Form" - an this works.

Must be an absolute beginner´s fault.😶

Hi smint,

Yes that would explain it, you can't just copy the form HTML over - it will look like a form but won't behave like a form. You can embed a form in an article if you need to using the ChronoForms plugin but in this case your solution is probably the best.

Hi Bob,

thanks for your help.

But after spending several hours trying to understand Chronoforms I decided not to use it.
It is much too complex.

I give up.

Hi smint,

That's OK. ChronoForms is very powerful and that can make it complex; though for simple forms it is much the same as the other forms components I have used.

There is the new ChronoContact which is a little sister to ChronoForms, simpler to use but much less powerful.

Hi Bob,

yes I know but choosing if a field is required or not is very impotant to me.
In ChronoContact you can not set a field to "required".

Hi smint,

Yes you can - it's called 'Not Empty' though (I don't know why).

Hi Bob,
ok, I didn´t realize that..

I know your heart beats for chronoforms and I have respect for that.

But I have changed to Proforms now and I am happy with it.

Maybe I´ll give Chronoforms a chance later on.

Thank you.

Best regards
