Dropdowns don't work correct in IE8

boeschung 19 Jun, 2013
Hello,

I have a problem with dropdown fields in IE8. If you click on a dropdown field the options will display, but you can not choose any of it. The options hide, if I move the mouse cursor on a option.

Test on IE10 with IE8 mode => it does work correct
Test with IETester => it doesn't work correct
Customers with native IE8 => it doesn't work correct

Here is the link to the form (dropdown "Basiskurs")
http://ausbildung.vodderakademie.com/component/chronoforms/?chronoform=oesterreich-2013

If I deactivate javascript, the dropdown elements work correct.

Is there a solution for this problem?

Best regards

Hi Alfred,

I can see the problem in IE8 but have no idea what is causing it. Not something I've seen reported before, and add that it only affects the first drop-down. Keyboard selection seems to work correctly but not mouse selection.

I don't see anything special or unusual about the select drop-down code except that you have some very long values and texts. Does it work correctly if you shorten these?

Hi Bob,

sorry, that I can answer only now. I have tested your suggestion (short messages), but it has brought no remedy.

I have tested a different template and then it works correct. There is probably an incompatibility between the YOOtheme templates ("revisit" and earlier") and chronoforms. Newer YOOtheme-Templates work correct with chronoforms.

I will continue to test, but it's hard because no errors are displayed.

Best regards
Alfred
