Edit records thru the frontend view

jcmafra 06 Jun, 2013
1 - I created a form with CF to add records;
2 - I created a table
3 - I connected the form with the table using CC
4 - In the frontend I see the list of the records
5 - I created a Edit button at the top of the frontend
But when I check a record and click on the Edit button I recive the msg: Connection name can NOT be empty!
I want to be able to edit a record thru the frontend
Do you have any manual or tutorial "How to do" step by step?

I attached a frontend view.

Thanks.,

Hi,

the form for editing the data needs to be set as Chronoconnectivity. It's under Form Applications in Chronoforms editor. Just type ChronoConnectivity and save it.

Then in CC, you need to specify this form as the one for editing. In CC go to Front Editing tab and select your form from the dropdown list. This should do the job.

Try to remove the number 37 from CC (Edit) and in CF move the show html above CC task (in the events view). Also, the Chronoconnectivity task (37) in CF is not necessary for it to edit data. CC will simply open up your edit form and will edit your data on submit and close the form.

At least it works for me this way🙂

Hi marcinwolejk,

Thanks again, but did not work😟

Someone else could give us a helping hand? It could be a bug🤨

Hello,

I suggest that you test with SEF urls OFF, because they may cause problems, if all is working fine, then you can turn them back ON again, and test only through a menu item's link.

Hi maddragon151,

As I got it: The Chronos Team made a code fix and applied a patch, then it worked fine.
