Results not matching tutorial

zonie 24 May, 2013
I have worked a bit with basic forms on Joomla in the past, but now I need to build forms with more functionality. Chronoforms seems to work as expected, but I'm stumped by ChronoConnectivity (4.0 RC3.2 ). I have been through the first tutorial, Creating a basic article list, a few times, and my results do not match the screenshots shown in the tutorial.

I've spent hours now searching the forums, and cannot find an answer. When I complete the first tutorial and look at the result, I see the header items displaying properly, but all the article listings (title, created_by, catid and state) are bunched together in the Title column. I can solve that problem by turning off Auto Listing and adding my own table settings in the Custom Listings panel, but then my Title column is no longer sortable. I will need to have sortable columns when I move beyond the tutorial to actual projects.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My skills with php coding are rudimentary.

Hi zonie,

What do you have set for the fields list?

title:Title,created_by:Author ID,catid:Category,state:State

This is entered on the Frontend List Settings tab in the List View Settings field. The correct information for each field displays, but the display puts them all in the Title column, centered and set to a width of 36 pixels.

Hi xonie,

I can't work out how that might happen :-(

Please post a link to the form so I can take a quick look.

Hi zonie,

The list is OK if you view it without the template except that you have colspan=8 on the footer row when there are 4 columns in the rest of the table.

The error seems to come from some slide-displaying module in the page footer.

Thanks. I'll see what happens with a different template when I get some time. I tried doing a fresh installation on another site that still had the basic Joomla templates, but it looks like CC is having some problems installing properly on Joomla 2.5.11.

Edit: Tried it with a template from a different provider, and everything works as expected. Thanks for the help.
