Chronoform how to use it? (chronoforms vs Chronocontact.

Hello,

I'm new to chronoforms. I'm busy to make a site for a friend om mine with Joomla 3.0.1.
I try to get some context how to use Chronoforms and Chronocontact.
If somebody knows, Chronoforms can that be compared with contactforms-7 for Wordpress?

I want to make a orderform for ordering books with fields:
- name,
- address,
- town,
- the number of books to order,
- e-mail address,
- message
- etc.
Is Chronoforms a opportunity for this orderform?

There is a:
- module.zip: then you can put the form on a certain position
- component.zip: herewith you can call a orderform/contactform directly from the menu, I think?
- plugin.zip: with the plugin, you can added a contactform in a article
Is my explanation correct or not?
(I don't think that I have to install all three.)

I think Chronoform is a alternative for the standard contactform of joomla or not? (ok the Chronoform is a lot more flexible)
If Chronocontactform is a alternative for the standard Joomla contact, which circumstances should I use ChronoContact?
I mean, what is the difference between Chronoforms and Chronocontact?

Thanks in advance,

Nico

Hi Nico,

In WordPress terms you could think of ChronoForms as (broadly) equivalent to Gravity Forms; it is a full-scale forms component that is capable of supporting almost any form-based application in Joomla!

ChronoContact is the new little sister to ChronoForms. It is more limited in what it can do - like ContactForm-7 - but is good if you need something like a simple contact or signup form.

For the application you are describing you should use ChronoForms.

You have to install the ChronoForms component to use ChronoForms; you can then install the plug-in (to show forms in articles); or the Module (to show forms in template locations).
