Hi RogerSWD,
This looks like a problem with the download. The .part suffix is usually created when the browser starts the download and removed when the download is complete.
Are you using immediate download? or saving the file to the server first? Are the files very big? If so then you may not be able to use immediate download.

direct download. How do you make it save to server first? I do not see any option for this.
very small files are attempted.
Thank you.

Hi Roger,
The settings are on the Download Tab of the CSV Export action. By default they are set to save to the server.

There is no download tab? Only check the records to export and a icon for CSV Export.
Hi RogerSWD,
Which version of ChronoForms are you using?
You can find the version from Site Admin | Extensions | Install/Uninstall | Components in Joomla! 1.5 or Site Admin | Extensions | Extension Manager | Manage in Joomla! 1.6/1.7/2.5.

Hi RogerSWD,
That's almost the latest version, a CFv4 Stable was released earlier this week with some bug fixes.
I think you must be using the CSV Export from the Data Displayer toolbar, not using a CSV export action in a form.
The CSV Export on the toolbar is set to do an immediate download and not save the file to the server. I have seen problems trying to export large data-sets that way, or in one case a small data-set containing some large text entries.
If you think that might be the problem then creating an 'export' form using the CSV Export action will give you more control.

Extension Manager does not show any update is available. What is the process for manual update? In your Tutorials, there are no docs for this.
Any release notes?
Any release notes?
Hi RogerSWD,
The process for upgrade is to install the new version of the Component directly over the existing installation; for plug-in and module updates you need to uninstall then reinstall I believe.
So far Max hasn't added ChronoForms to the Extension Manager, I don't know why, or if he has any plans to add it going forward.
There isn't a FAQ because, so far, it hasn't been a frequently asked question :-( I think there were some notes on he download page for earlier versions when the upgrade process changed.
