Completely Blank Submission

Curt 12 Apr, 2013
Hello,

I am having an issue recently that includes submitted forms not including any data other than the email template. I searched your forums for a possible solution, but most of the posts note that their submitted forms include {input_box1} where as mine does not. I have tested this over and over, all of my fields are required so the form should not be able to be submitted as it is. I also have a captcha enabled as well. Well, it wasn't "enabled" under the captcha tab, but the captcha input box including "required" is on the form. I just enabled the captcha "required" under the tab. It was disabled because it seemed Internet Explorer users were having an issue viewing the captcha.

I used Easy Form builder. I ran a debug test and the only error that popped up was
Validation Errors:
Array
(
)
Redirecting...

Which I deleted the "Redirecting..." bit from the Thank You message since the form is setup to redirect.

The last completed form that we received was on March 25, and since then seven blank submissions all from different IPs. Could they be crawlers or bots?

I read the FAQ, none of it applies to this exact situation unless I'm missing something. Let me know if you think of anything.

Thank you,

Curt

Hi Curt,

If I understand correctly your emails are complete but all of the data entries are blank. That would fit with a bot hitting the form URL with JavaScript disabled. Hopefully setting the Captcha up correctly will block these. You can test by disabling JavaScript in your browser and trying to submit the form.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. Top notch.

I just tested with and without Javascript, with and without Enabling the captcha tab.

All is well it seems. Thank you for the fix and the quick reply.
