Problems sending email to different email providers

ultimatetg12 01 Apr, 2013
Hey All,

at first - sorry for my bad english, im from germany, but i have some trouble sending email with ChronoForms.

Extension: ChronoForms 4.0 RC3.5.2.4 / for J3.0

Some Settings:

PHP Built On Linux *dedicated.hosteurope.de* x86_64
Database Version 5.1.49-3
Database Collation utf8_general_ci
PHP Version 5.3.3-7+squeeze14
Web Server Apache/2.2.16 (Debian)
WebServer to PHP Interface apache2handler
Joomla! Version Joomla! 3.0.3 Stable
Joomla! Platform Version Joomla Platform 12.2.0 Stable

Im using two identical joomla installations with exact the same settings and forms/extensions on the server, just the domain and the content is a little bit different.

On the first domain sending Emails just to T-Online doesnt work, all other Email Providers get Emails from the Form. At beginning T-Online also works, but after a few weaks (without editing settings) no emails reached the T-Online Emailbox, so we added a Gmail Account to forward incoming Mails to T-Online.

On the second domain now Emails to T-Online, Gmail, Firemail, Freenet are not delivered, but for example to whatever@trash-mail.com it still works. The settings are identical to the first domain.

Email Settings:

Email#1

Enabled: Yes
To: forward@googlemail.com (to forward Emails to T-Online)
Subject: Testmail
From name: Name
From Email: root@localhost.com
Email Template: Some variables from the form
Attachments fields name: Email (from the form)
Dynamic To: Email
Dynamic Reply to name: Name
Dynamic Reply to email: whatever@t-online.de

Any Ideas what could be wrong? I searched for many days, this post was my last idea to solve this problem...

Best regards,
Norman

Hi Norman,

If some emails are being delivered and others are not then it's likely that ChronoForms + Joomla! are sending OK.

The problem is probably that the emails are being identified as possible spam and sent to a spam folder or dropped. Please check that domain in the From Email address matches your site domain - mis-matched domain names are the most common cause of this problem.
