I must be missing something. I want to add additional fields to chronoform joomla registration form,
and save to db. It will only allow me to save the default fields. Is it possible to create one form and save it to two different db tables; the joomla user table and my own or do I have to use two separate forms.

You can use two DB Save actions to save to two different tables. You'll need to make sure that the UserID is the same in both so that you can link the data up later.
