Linefeeds being inserted in top of form

andru16 28 Feb, 2013
I don't understand what's happening with the form I generated with chronoform v.3.0 (STABLE). It looks almost fine on safari 6 and firefox 20.0 with 3 or 4 line feeds but there are tons of line feeds when viewed in IE 7, 8 and 9.

Below is the direct link to the form:

Also I can't seem to make AntiSpam to work.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue? How do I remove the line feeds?

Thank you in advance.

HI andru16,

It looks like your HTML is missing a </table> tag somewhere.

You also have a problem with the Email Cloaking plug-in. Please see this FAQ (though it refers to the current version of ChronoForms, the problem is the same).

ChronoForms v3.0 is now very old, you should consider upgrading to 3.2.

None of the ChronoForms validation files appear to be loading; I don't see any evidence of a Captcha in the form.

Thank you for the advice. It's most appreciated. I will look at my code again and see if I missed out a tag.

How do I upgrade to 3.2? Is there any documentation that will show me how to do it without disrupting the website's registration process for more than an hour?

I clicked on the AntiSPam tab and turned on the option. Did I need to do more?

The actual form that is in use is here. I created the earlier form for testing.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andrew,

If you check the Download page it will tell you if you have to Uninstall and Reinstall to upgrade - from memory I think you do with v3.0.

If all goes well - and it should - then the upgrade to the most recent CFv3 should only take a few minutes. Upgrading to CFv4 is another issue, don't do that until you upgrade Joomla!

Personally I'd probably do a dry run on a test site first to make sure that everything still works OK.

For security take a backup of the forms and the ChronoForms database tables before doing the upgrade.
