Undefined property Error

mtoro 30 Jun, 2007
Hi there!
I've installed the lastest version of Chronoengine. The installation was successful. However, when I'm in the 'General' tab where I have to enter the 'Form method' that drop down menu appears to empty. The field bellow: 'Email field' has the following message:

br /><b>Notice</b>: Undefined property: stdClass::$emailfield in <b>/home/fhlinux173/e/elearningimperial.com/user/htdocs/administrator/components/com_chronocontact/admin.chronocontact.html.php</b> on line <b>162</b><br />

Any ideas??

I'd appreciate your help.

Many thanks, Maria<br><br>Post edited by: admin, at: 2007/07/01 07:16

Hi Maria,

First of all these errors appears because your server PHP settings are more than usual strict and show every bit of issue which isn't the case at 99% of the servers.

Please try this: click "new", now you are in a new form page, put a form name, then hit save, then open the form you have just created again to edit it and do your customizations!! you should not now get those notices.

Cheers

Maria, also try changing your Error Reporting in Global Configuration -> Server, sure one of them will solve all this for you!!

Hi Max,

In the future it might also be worth initialising the paramsvalues to "" for a new form, would get rid of these problems without the need to save the form first.

PS Maria - good to see my university here.

Hi Max,

Many thanks for your suggestions. I did what you suggested:

"Please try this: click "new", now you are in a new form page, put a form name, then hit save, then open the form you have just created again to edit it and do your customizations!! you should not now get those notices suggested".

However, the form method field is still empty..

What are the settings you suggest changing the the config section?

Many thanks,

Maria

Hi Max,

I can see the drop down menu for 'Post method' now but when I save my form it doesn't provide a link so I don't know how to link to it.

Any ideas.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Maria,

After you save your form and just beside teh form name there is a link column, please copy this link and use it to access the form by creating a new Link-URL menu item!!🙂

Hi Max,

That's the link that doesn't appear next to the form name as you show in your demo..
I don't understand why...
I'd appreciate your help on this. Thanks, Maria

Hi Maria,

In the current version the link text should appear but isn't a link. You are right - in the demo it does (but the active link there is only really useful for de-bugging). My fault I made the demo before the feature was installed and Max didn't do it quite as I expected. In the next release the two should match up.

I have posted the corrected code here in the last few days, if not you should be able to cut and paste the link code OK.
