There is an option in the Frontend List Settings labeled "Data Listing Field". It appears to create a datasheet list where you can edit the data within the list, without opening the form. I have added the tool bar that I found in another post but it only updates the first field. How does this feature work? Is there a tutorial for this? This option would be great for quick edit of several records.

I suspect a bug in the code :-) Like you I only see the first input as editable and I can also see a PHP warning in the HTML that is generated:
