Error 405 POST not allowed

treblesix 22 Nov, 2012
Hi - I am using Chronoforms on a host using Zeus. When I submit a form I get the following message

"Error 405 Method Not Allowed
The requested method POST is not allowed
Powered by Zeus Technology"

I have tried the GET method but this just throws up an error page

Any help appreciated

Hi treblesix,

Check with your host about why POST is disabled, you need it enabled.

Hi Bob

Host responded as follows "It looks like you are trying to POST to a .html file, which you can't do on our servers. You'll need to alter the script to post to a PHP file instead."

How can I do this?

Hi treblesix,

Hmmm . . . I wonder if your site URLs end in .html or .htm? If so you could try changing the setting to remove the suffix.

Otherwise try changing your form settings to set Relative URL to No on the form General tab (click the form Name link in the Forms Manager to see it).

I have found a solution by disabling the add suffix to url option in the joomla core SEO settings

Thanks for your help Bob
