Add a print button to a form

mrbaselier 21 Nov, 2012
Hello everyone,

I use Chronoforms V3 Stable.

I want to add a button below my form so users can send AND/OR print the form.

It works to add a Javascript print button but than the complete webpage is printed and I only want the area of the form to be printed.

How can I do this? I searched the forum and found a few topics but not a working solution.

I can choose to open the form in a blank (non-template) page. But this would be a workaround. I hope it is possible to add a print button.

I also tried a JQuiry solution to print only a specified DIV and its content (a printable area) but than it only prints the form with empty fields and after page refresh the form is empty again so users would have to fill it again. Not a working solution also.

I am out of ideas. Please help!

Kind regards,

Hello Greyhead,

Ok. I have seen this post. But if I understand correctly it means that I must print the Thank you page and not the form.

That is no problem. But I do not know how to view the filled form on the Thank You page. I currently use a Joomla Article as Thank You page. Do I need to change something? Or what do i have to do to view the filled form here?

Thank you for your quick help!

Hi Jarno,

I have no idea how you'd print the form data from an article. Sounds like hard work to me :-(

If you use the Show Thanks Message action then the print button in the FAQ will work and you can add any content you like to it.

Hi Bob,

Ok. I know it may sound very stupid... but can you tell me how to use the "Show Thanks Message action"?? I do not see this function anywhere?

THANK YOU!

Hi Jarno,

Sorry, I've just looked back and seen that you are using a very old version of ChronoForms :-( The Show Thanks Message action is in CFv4.

You can probably adapt the code from the FAQ to work with the On Submit After Email box in your version.
