Emailing form results inconsistently

spletcher 21 Oct, 2012
I'm a bit baffled as I am revisiting forms I created that I had working earlier.

Now, I'm looking at two forms that are similar. Both post to the database consistently and without issues.

One form will not send me an email at all and the other does so without problem. Both seemed to be configured the same.

What could be missing that causes one not to send email and the other to send an email during the "on Submit" section of events. I am running v4.0 and I just upgraded to the lastest RC5.1 but no to avail.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi spletcher,

It's very unlikely that ChronoForms is sending emails irregularly; it's usually an all or nothing process. More likely that the missing ones are ending up marked as spam and dropped or put in a spam folder.

Greyhead,

Wow - the FAQ section gave me the answer I needed!

It was actually having the from email not being from the server that is sending it. That surprised me as I thought I usually could have put the email as the email of the user who filled out the form. Guess I'll have to put this as the "reply to" but not the "from" email.

Hi spletcher,

That check is increasingly common as a blocker to 'relayed' spam messages.
