Submitting a Joomla Article

Grizzled 15 Sep, 2012
Good day,

I created a form that I would like to submit as a Joomla article.

I have the form working perfectly and then I went to Actions > Joomla Functions > Submit Article and added Submit Article to the On Submit Area.

I identified the Article Title Field and Full Text Field. I also chose a category that I would like the article to submit to.

I can't seem to get the article to show in the Article Manager.

What am I missing?

Thanks, Chuck

Hi Chuck,

That sounds correct to me. Please take a Form Backup using the icon in the Forms Manager and post it here (as a zipped file) or PM or email it to me and I'll take a closer look.

Hi,

Did you search the articles list well ? sometimes the article will be listed at the end of the list (last page).

Hi Chuck,

Please move the Submit Article action up before the ReDirect User action. At present the ReDirect User action ends the form processing before the Submit Article action is run.

Hi Bob,

I have the submitted form posting nicely to the Joomla Article manager.

Now I have created a Category Blog Layout and List for testing displaying the new Articles.

What is happening is that it is posting a copy of the article. There is only on article in the Article Manager. But the Blog post picks up two. It only happens with the artilces submitted from Chronoforms.

Here is a link to the layout...

I figured this out.

I needed to assign a user to the article. Once I did that it quit double posting.

Thanks, Chuck

Hi Chuck,

Well done, I wouldn't have thought of that as a possible cause.
