Top Urgent! My site is down after install of Chronoform!

hhtmp88 29 Aug, 2012
Hi all!

I have just installed Chronoforms V4 for Joomla1.5:
* com_Chronoforms_V4_RC3.4.1_J1.5.zip
* Mod_Chronoforms_J1.5_V4_RC3.0.zip
* plg_Chronoforms_J1.5_V4_RC3.0_Plugin.zip
-> and enabled the module and plugin
-> then I found that my frontend is down and shows a blank white webpage with the following error shown:
================================
Form name can NOT be empty!
================================
-> but I do give the form with the name "YogaClass_I_want", so what's wrong?
-> I try to disable the module, then my site go back to normal, so what's wrong with the module?

Hi hhtmp88,

It sounds as though you have enabled the module but haven't set the name of the form you want to display in it. Leave it disabled until you have a form to show.

No!

I actually have created a form and give it a name "yoga class I want"
-> I am now testing that form thru the chronform plugin.

I don't know what's wrong with the module and I have to disable it until its bug has been found!

Hi htmp88 ,

Form names aren't allowed to have spaces in them. Please rename the form.

Sorry!

From the very start, the form name is already contain no spaces, it is "YogaClass_I_want"
-> so what's wrong with the Chronoform module?

Hi hhtmp88,

OK - I can only go by what you post here :-(

There is nothing wrong with the module that I know of. Please check that you have downloaded and installed the CFv4 version of the module and not the CFv3 version.

Hi,

First of all, make sure that you are testing the module OR the plugin, not both of them at the same time, to be able to hunt the problem's source.

if you are using the module then make sure that the form name is entered inside the module configuration.

If you are using the plugin then make sure that you have used this formula:

{chronoforms}form_name{/chronoforms}

Thanks Max for your hints!

It is confirmed that it's the problem of the module
-> if form name is not entered in the module, the whole site will be cleared to show only the warning message!
-> This will be a disaster, so warning message should only be displayed in the corresponding module position only!
-> and should not clear all the contents of that module position!

So Chronoform developers, pls. correct this asap!
