Is working with files in a dossier possible with CF and CC?

hks 18 Aug, 2012
Hello,
I want to set up a set of files in a dossier which are edited by forms. I want to have for instance an application form in Chronoforms, and later on I would like to reopen and edit the data by another form by the person who would receive the application form and adds his comments and approval, for instance. So it is neccesary to change the data, add extra information etc by means of the second form and maybe later even a third form. The results will not be published on a webpage otherwise than via the forms. Is this possible with the combination of CF and CC?

Hello,

This may be possible, but I couldn't understand the description very well, I don't think you mean updating/editing files ? even this can be done but you will need to use the Joomla file system functions.

This is the situation: I want to build an online system for a central complaints desk. A customer may use an online form to issue his complaint or problem. The person recieving this should be able to add his own remarks, a filenr or whatever and then sent the lot to the complaint handling commitee. These people may want to add their conclusions etc.
CF is a great tool for forms, but how is it possible to add data in a later time? I thought this might be possible with CF and CC. But maybe I should search in a completely different direction to find a different solution. Any suggestion is most welcome.
Paul.

Hi hks,

You can do this with ChronoForms and ChronoConnectivity. You'd need to think through the data design carefully. I'd suggest that you look at pre-built products before going down the development route. Zen desk is good and widely used; there are also several Joomla! extensions that look OK but I don't have any direct experience with them.
