Mail not being created

Patrick.Rowan 13 Aug, 2012
Hey Bob and crew,

Love the Chronoforms and have deployed the v3 on many a client site successfully.
We're migrating an existing client from Breezing forms over the the v4 of chronoforms and have run into an issue where mail is not being sent. This is a j1.5.26 site using Chronoforms v4 RC3.4.1_j15

I've gone through the FAQ suggested in another similar post:
• my to and from addresses are different

  • email is enabled on the form with the correct fields filled out

  • I've created a simple 1 field form to test with in addition to the normal form

  • my system does send email properly via user register

  • I'm not using any dynamic values

  • The debug say's mail sent successfully, but it doesn't seem to be

  • I've checked my spam filters and postini queue
  •
I'm happy to provide any info needed to help me resolve this issue including un/pw to administrator if need be.

the short form is here and has debug on:
    http://www.riverwoodsrc.org/index.php?option=com_chronoforms&chronoform=testform&event=submit

    the longer form is here:
    http://www.riverwoodsrc.org/index.php?option=com_chronoforms&chronoform=ContactForm

    Thanks.

    Hi Patrick,

Please try changing the From Email address to match the site domain.

There's a list of things to check in this FAQ but you've already covered most of them.

    Hey Bob,

Just changed it over to an info@riverwoodsrc.org and submitted a couple times. Still no luck yet.

    Hi Patrick,

By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

    Hi Patrick,

I receive the Email OK if I put my address in the To Email box so I guess your copies are ending up in a spam folder somewhere.

    Hey Bob,

    Thanks for looking into this.
I was checking my spam filters and pulling my hair out on this one, so I called my hosting vendor to see if there was an intermediary filter I was missing somewhere.

Turns out, it was a DNS issue between the riverwoods domain and my email account domain.

Thanks for taking the time to debug, I'll buy you a beer!

    Hi Patrick,

Glad you found it, these can be tricky. It's sometimes worth checking with a GMail account as they seem to have the most open filters - it may end up in the spam folder but at least you can find it there.
