Mootols Upgrade Crashes Menu

baxterdown 13 Aug, 2012
I enabled mootools upgrade to run CF v4 on a client's Joomla site. When I enable mootols upgrade, the site's main navigation loses all dropdowns past the first level.

I have corroborated that the issue is with mootols upgrade as the menu functions correctly when I disable it. Following is the pertinent information:

Site: <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.flaglermuseum.us">www.flaglermuseum.us</a><!-- w -->
Plugin: Chronoforms v4
Joomla v1.5.26
Gantry v3.1.20

Right now I have mootools upgrade disabled as the client cannot afford to have an non-operational menu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jose,

Then use ChronoForms v3 or upgrade the menu.

Hi Bob,

I don't want to go back to v3. YUCK! LOL! I posted on the RocketTheme forum (I'm using one of their templates) to see if anyone there can help.

I don't know how to upgrade the menu. I've looked everywhere on the Joomla CP and I can't find anything related to the menu other than what's on the Template manager.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi baxterdown,

I thought that most of the RocketTheme templates had been upgraded? It may be some other odd JaavScript error. What messages do you see in the console?

Hi Bob,

I don't see any errors. If mootols upgrade is enabled, only first level dropdowns work, which means, when you mouse over what should be a fly-out on the dropdown menu, nothing happens. If mootools upgrade is disabled all level dropdowns work.

I'll be happy to create a login to the CP panel if you want to take a peak.

Hi Jose,

By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi baxterdown,

The JavaScript console shows an error in the Fusion Menu fusion.js file when the MooTools upgrade is enabled.

The RocketTheme site Changelog for the Crystalline template shows that MooTools 1.2 support was added in Release 1.5.7 but that doesn't seem to include the Fusion Menu. Perhaps there is a separate upgrade for that.

Thanks Bob! I appreciate you looking into it. I'm gonna pass this information along to on the RocketTheme forum and see what they say

Many thanks again!
