Embedding form into On Pageload Module

marbert 14 Jul, 2012
I'm trying to do something with these two extensions and I'm running into some trouble, of course.

The URL I'm working on is: gms4sbc.com.

As you'll likely see, upon landing on the homepage, I need to have a quick visitor survey come up. I've got it in place and looking good enough to move forward, but the form isn't behaving properly: It's not emailing the visitor inputs, nor is it feeding them to the database.

Since this On Pageload extension is a module, with no way to embed the "loadposition" tag that ChronoContact needs, what I did was make an article with the Chrono form embedded as you normally would, then I viewed the pagesource for that article, copied then pasted the relevant HTML into the On Pageload module's text window with some inline CSS to pretty it up. This is likely where I'm running into problems; the article page feeds to email and database fine, so I know I'm configured properly in the back end, it's this hacked HTML I've embedded into the module that's the hiccup.

I'm running Joomla 1.5 and 3.1 of ChronoContact. Any suggestions as to how to make this work? Thanks.

Hi marbert,

Your immediate problem is that the form action is set to the site root - not to the ChronoForms URL so ChronoForms never sees the form results
<form id="ChronoContact_PopUp_Survey" action="http://www.gms4sbc.com" method="post" name="ChronoContact_PopUp_Survey">

Bob

PS You are running a complex hack using outdated versions of Chronoforms and Joomla! . . . it may not work.
