Hi everybody! I'd like to know if there is any plan about publishing a new edition of the book for Chronoforms version 4.

New book for version 4?
Hi anywhere88,
Packt Publishing commissioned the last one. As far as I know they haven't made any inquiries about a new version. I may try to self publish something and am slowly collecting chunks of useful text but it's still a long way from looking like a book.

I see, it's just I was thinking about buying the pdf version for the 3.1, but I know some code isn't working in the 4.0. Do you think most of the code is still valid for the new version?
Could anyone who bought it give his opinion?

Hi anywhere88,
I didn't buy it but my opinion is that most of the content that refers to the Admin interface is more or less useless as that has changed completely.
On the other hand most of the ideas and the code examples are still usable - though some changed to the code are needed.
In rough terms I think that it's still about 60% usable for CFv4. The real question is 'How much is your time worth?' If you have one moderately complex project and the book saves you a couple of hours of your time then it's probably more than paid for itself.
There are more than twenty 'recipes' from the book - about a quarter of the whole thing that you can read or download here to give you an idea of what's in it.
