I've read through other posts about this and people seemed to have worked it out but I cannot. I have done everything they have done. This is just a test site right now and once I have everything working correctly, I wll pay for the full version. Is that why validation is not working in ie7? I don't want to purchase this form if it doesn't do what I need.
Both my one field forms will not validate in ie7 and will just submit the link.

Hi IndexTeam,
The validation appears to work OK in IE7 browser mode if you view the form without the template and the page and menu are badly broken with the template so I suspect that the problem is that you are loading JQuery without putting it into no Conflict mode (please check the JQuery FAQ).
