My Joomla is latest download 2.5.4
My Chronoforms is latest today.
I use this all the time and buy validations for all my sites, please HELP!
I only used this a few days ago but on this latest website all loads fine but the form will not save, I got it to save once after uninstalling or if I try and save the form elements and form is not save it asks me to save the name of the form first, it does that ONCE but will not save again - when I hit SAVE it goes back to the main joomla cpanel??
I have done so many of these ??? as I said, love chronoforms, please HELP! This is a different host to my normal but I have used them before.
<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.boneanzaholidays.com.au">www.boneanzaholidays.com.au</a><!-- w --> is the website.
THANKS

Hi gigi,
This is probably a server security setting. Your web host should be able to tell you what is enabled on the server. If suhosin is running then these three settings need to be at least 1,000 (possibly 2,000 if you use large forms).
suhosin.get.max_vars
suhosin.post.max_vars
suhosin.request.max_vars

Hi Bob
Tried as you suggested - first set them all to 1000, no good, then upped the settings to 2000 but I still cannot save the form. When I click Save it shoves me back the Admin Control Panel. Any further suggestions that may help?
Thanks
Malcolm
PS
I used to live near Mur de Bretagne in Brittany for 7 seven years - lovely place, lovely people. Moved back to Blighty a couple of years ago for the family otherwise I'd still be out there.

Hi Malcolm,
Probably worth checking the server log - if you suspect that suhosin is part of the problem I recall that you can put it into a test mode where it reports problems without stopping anything. That would let you check.
If mod_security is set in your PHP.ini file that can also cause similar problems.

We're right out on the NW tip of Brittany - the last stop before Canada.

Hello,
Just a quick note, the web server must be restarted after doing any changes for them to take effect!

Max

Hi mgdejong,
If you are editing your Form HTML using the Form Code tab then set the Form Type to Custom to block the wizard edit. I prefer using the Custom Element element in the Wizard for editable code. Please see this FAQ.
Do you have a lot of containers in your form? There is a bug with some versions of ChronoForms if you do. Otherwise you may have hit the server security problems in described in this FAQ.

Hi mgdejong,
Please use the Contact Us link above to ask Max if he has a patch for the container bug in CFV4 3.5.1 for Joomla! 2.5. I know that he has added a fix in the latest Joomla! 3.0 version.

Hi,
I have the same problem. I created some forms with more the 43 elements. First with 9 container. I was not able to save.
Later i build a form without any container and more than 43 elements. I was also no able to save.
I uncommented the max_..._vars in php.in, set it to 2000 and rebooted the server. Same problem.
I'm using Chronoforms 4.0 RC3.5.2.1 and Joomla 3.0.2.
Has anyone a fix or probably a workaround?
Is it working in custom mode?
Michael

Hi Michael,
See my answer above about containers - the same problem as with mod_security can also arise if you have suhosin running on your server.

Hi Michael,
Have you checked to see if suhosin is running? Please see this FAQ
A look at your server logs might help?

I found the error. Suhosin.
I installed the server by myself and didn't installed it. So I thought it was not on the system.
At a closer look to the apache dir /etc/php5/apache2/conf.d/ I saw the file suhosin.ini.
After deactivating it and a restart I was able to save the form with a lot of more elements.
I didn't know suhosin is included in the standard PHP package.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I have found the same problem about redirection to the control panel after trying to save the page with quite a few form fields. We use the newest version of chronoform and joomla 2.5. The only log error we get from the server is:
File does not exist: .../includes/js, referer: .../administrator/index.php?option=com_chronoforms&task=form_wizard&form_id=2
Any solutions to this has been found yet?
Regards,
Dominykas

Hi Dominykas,
I'm afraid that I don't know what the problem is - there is no file (or folder) includes/js in Joomla! or ChronoForms as far as I can see.

Hi,
Just check the suhosin and see if its enabled ? or maybe the max_post_vars setting, one of them must be causing the issue if you are having the same symptoms!

Hi,
thanks for answering. I checked Joomla php settings and the only variable I found was max_post_vars which is set to 1000. No presence of suhosin or mod_security. Is it possible to check if they're installed/enabled without having access to internal server files?

Hi Dominykas,
then please change the "max_post_vars" to 3000 or something then restart the web server.
You may also check the Joomla's system info in your admin area, then php info, search the page for "suhosin"
