Forms and Mobile Joomla

tlegens 05 Jun, 2012
I have the latest Chronoforms installed on a website and the forms are working great from the desktop. While on the Iphone, when I submit the form without entering required fields, I just get the page refreshed and it goes to the top of the page. When I fill in all the fields and fill in the captcha, I get a wrong verification code even though the code is correct. Has anyone run across this before?

So, two issues (may be the same problem)

1. Validation doesn't show
2. Captcha does not accept the correct code.

Joomla V 2.5.4
Mobile Joomla V1.0.3.1
Chronoforms V4.0 RC3.3

Hi tlegens,

I don't know anything about Mobile Joomla! - it sounds as though the template may not be supporting MooTools and may be caching the pages.

I thought that at first too. My only problem with that is I have several other mobile websites I am using mobile joomla on with Chronoforms. It must be somewhere in my template. I'm going to mess around with it some more today in chrome to see if I can find an error or where it's getting caught up.

Ok, I finally figured out what the issue was. I had created the forms in question in the easy wizard mode because the client wanted to be able to go in and edit information on the post info like email addresses, response emails etc... What I have found and been able to replicate on all the websites I manage is, you need to have the captcha load prior to the form html. In the easy wizard, there is no place to set that order. Once I flipped over to advanced wizard mode, I was able to set the order and the captcha began working as expected.

So, bottom line is, set your form up in advanced mode and make sure your captcha loads first.

A note to the developer would be, maybe have the easy wizard load that script first. Maybe I am overlooking something in the form setup but this is what I have experienced.

Hi tlegens,

I just built a little test form with the Easy Wizard and wasn't able to replicate this problem in standard Joomla!. It sounds as though it may only be a problem with the Mobile Joomla! template.

That's probably correct. It is happening across my 3 or 4 other mobile joomla websites. It's not that big of a deal for me to work out of the advanced wizard. I figured I'd post the reply back though for others who may run into this.
