s5 box and multipage form

pcpros2go 26 May, 2012
I've finally worked out how to do a multipage form and everything is working fine with the form. However, I'm trying to use the form in a s5box. Which will open up fine as well. But when I hit the next button on the form then the s5 box closes. If I hit the link to open the s5box again, it will open up on the next page of the form.

Any one else experience this or have an idea?

I guess I should add that the s5box loads modules into a light box. So it is the Chronoforms module that is being used.

thx

Hi pcpros2go,

No real experience with this and I don't know s5box :-( My best guess is that you can't keep the box open using the module.

It might work if you use and iFrame so that the frame content refreshed. You could probably use a tabbed multi-page version of the form too. Or have a version of the form that submitted with Ajax so that the window didn't close.

s5box(from Shape5) seems to use something called colorbox. Works similar to rokbox, if you're familiar with that. However, s5box has the ability to load modules into a lightbox.

So, yeah, I'd have to figure out some way to have each submit(next) button to use ajax(which I don't know very well) to move through the pages. Ajax submission is one thing, but then having to fire off a choronoform event with the ajax is another.

Rokbox and iframe works, but looks tacky by default. Have to add div tags to the form to make it fit right, and the iframe doesn't resize itself to fit the next page of the form. So unless every page of the form was the same size there will be an excess of white space on the smaller pages of the form.

My best course is probably to ditch the multipage and just make it a page form. Oh well.
