There is no form with this name.... error

richardbeatson 17 May, 2012
Hi,

My Joomla version is 1.5.25
PHP version: 5.2.14
Chronoform version: 3.1 RC5.5
Site: http://www.camphanover.org

Been enjoying using Chronoforms for years now, so much so that I got the book not so long ago also 😀

One of the forms I have on the site is for camper registration (http://www.camphanover.org/cms/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=camperapplication) which, once completed, forwards to another form (http://www.camphanover.org/cms/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=feecalc) which has a bit of javascript for them to pay via Paypal.

All works perfectly..... 80% of the time. The other 20% people are submitting the first form and just getting a blank page with the following error: "There is no form with this name or may be the form is unpublished, Please check the form and the url and the form management".

The problem is that I cannot replicate the issue. I have submitted the form numerous times and for me it seems to work fine. I am using either Firefox or Chrome.

I have checked on the forums and it seems that others have had this issue but cleared it by removing hyphens "-" in the form name. As you can see, my forms do not contain hyphens.

Can you please suggest how we might clear this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hi richardbeatson,

I tried it in FireFox, IE9 and IE9 in IE7 browser mode without any problems. I don't see anything obvious that would cause this problem :-(

Bob,

Thanks for taking the time to look at this for me and confirm that there are no errors. I can only conclude that people are using old browsers or it is an issue with the hosting.

Thanks again,

Richard

Hello Ignatius,

How do the work but you get a "no form with this name" error ?🙂 could you please post a screenshot ?

Do you have the form listed in the forms manager ? if yes then what happens when you click the "frontend view" link ?

Max

Hi

Thanks for the reply.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. We had a hectic Monday.

1. Attached is the screenshot for the (http://www.southerncircle.com/cs/cape-town-city-tour.html) Page. obviously the message is on to TOP of the page and the Form at the bottom, I have joined to 2 screenshots together.
2. I could not find the "frontend view" button, but I have taken the link from the "Form Manager" for the same form as above (Cape Townn City Tour)
3. This message is appearing throughout my whole website, even if the page has a form or not a form.
4. I vaguely recall that, during the time I struggled to get the forms to work, I came across a post to modify some code, to get to show why the forms are not working.
5. I could not find that forum post again, but has re-installed Chronoforms to correct these code changes.
6. I am not sure if these two items are related, or if I even got to change the code.
7. I hope this information is of help.
8. I did post the link to the website above, as usually that is the easiest way for you guys to try and get to the root of the problem.

Thanks again for the help!!

Hi Ignatius,

I see that you are using ChronoForms v3 so there isn't a FrontEnd View link - the nearest equivalent is the 'Link' link.

Do you have the ChronoForms module enabled without any form name being set? That might cause this.
