File type in FORM, why must upload a file?

ealltech 11 May, 2012
Hi Admin

ChronoForms V 3.2

If you add a field as "File" upload with email. It seems must upload a file otherwise can not submit form. It's strange if you add "file" type in form, That means you have to upload a file then submit successfully. We would like it be a none-mandatory field. Visitor can choose upload or not. Thank you!

Now we code as below.

<input class="cf_fileinput required" size="20" id="file1" name="file1" type="file" />

Enclosed is 2 scree captures for your reference. Hope you can answer me soon!

Hi ealltech,

Is this the latest ChronoForms version 3.2?

If so there's a bug in the File upload code. Please see this post.
