Use CF for unregistered user to submit J! content?

"Submit content to core Joomla table [1.5]
Hello people. Is it possible with CHRONOFORMS to create a form that will be used for simple users to Submit their content which will go to jos_content as normal content/articles ? "

There followed a reply suggesting that perhaps a plug-in would be created to allow unregistered users to dump Chronoforms data into Joomla core tables.

Excuse me if I missed something, but was the plug-in ever created? It would be fantastic if a tool existed to permit unregistered users to create articles that could get sent to jos_content and then approved for publication by a site administrator. Alternately, is there fairly simple way for a PHP dope to accomplish the above?

Thanks.

Hi apbschmitz,

As far as I know that is no current plugin to allow unsubscribed users to do this, though I'm sure Max has plans for several different plugins to come.

I'm sure that it is possible and the Joomla Registration PlugIn would be a good model to start with, but probably not a trivial piece of work.

I wonder if anyone else out there has dealt with this Joomla issue (no simple means of allowing unregistered users to submit an article for editor/publisher approval) and can provide an example of their work-around. Thanks.

I'm not saying this is the best solution, but the problem made me give up on Joomla for the project I was working on. Instead I started from scratch using WordPress, the blogging software, that also works (in my opinion) as a lightweight CMS. By adding the plug-in, TDO MiniForms, you can allow unregistered users to post content that an administrator can later approve for publication. You can see what I did at http://www/stupidest-thing.com

Good luck.
