Hello,
I upgraded Joomla 1.0.13 to 1.0.15 and suddenly my forms did not work. I have a redirect URL that didn't show up and the message was not sent to the recipient.
I use Chronoform component 2.3.5 (although it says 2.3.6 on the zip file).
When I restored the web server to Joomla 1.0.13 everything worked again.
What's the problem?

Hi arvendal,
There were some changes in Joomla 1.0.14 or 15 that broke parts of ChronoForms. I'd suggest that you update to the latest ChronoForms version (2.3.8 I think) which works OK with Joomla 1.0.15.

OK!
But how do I upgrade without uninstalling the old version?
I mean the ChronoForms_V2.3.8.1.zip contains a lot of files which I believe must go into different folders (like administration, components).
Is there an easy way? I have read some of the forum posts, but I must say I can't understand how to do a manual upgrade. I would like to do this because the website is crammed with several forms.
Yours,
Arvendal
Edit: I saw that there was an upgrade version so that takes care of my question, but does update 2.3.8 miss anything from version 2.3.8.1?<br><br>Post edited by: arvendal, at: 2008/04/03 12:44

Hi aevendal,
I think maybe there's one file changed in the 2.3.8.1 I'll take a look in a few minutes.

Hi,
Sorry to bother you.
In order to avoid any trouble at the live site, I did the upgrade at a Wampserver copy on my local PC.
I still get the problems with the redirect URL not loading and the message not sent.
Well, I am not so familiar with local Joomla installations, so there may be some feature that may not work, I suppose. But this makes me hesitate to do another upgrade try at the live site. Any advice on this?

Hi arvendal,
The only important changes between 2.3.8 and 2.3.8.1 are in chronocontact.php as far as I can see. Replace this in the 2.3.8 upgrade package and all should be OK.

Hi arvendal,
so you have v2.3.6 and want to upgrade to v2.3.8.1 then you must overwrite all files, the "easiest way to do this" is to install Chronoforms to another site and then download the whole new installed components/com_chronocontact folder from the new site then overwrite the one at the old site with it, this way you will have all the frontend files for you at one folder to upload without any pain, do the same with the administration folder too, also take care that the new plugin features will need some DB table created so don't try to use it unless you create the table manually!!
the other approach is to backup all your forms and the jos_chrono_contact table and then uninstall and then create a new fresh install then either restore all your forms or restore the table at the DB.
Cheers

Another comment, if you will use v2.3.8 upgrade package at the downloads section then you can do what Bob said and update the chronocontact.php with the one from the 2.3.8.1 package, but again don't use the plugins feature unless you create the db table!
Cheers
