Difference between admin and frontend in V4

emmexx 21 Apr, 2012
I started using cf and cc v4 a few days ago and I'm still a little bit lost with the new layout and functionality of the components.

In V3 I used to create one form to enter data, optionally one form to edit data and cc to create an interface to list/edit/delete records.

I read the tutorial about multirecords and my confusion grow a little more.

If I want to give a user the permission to edit or delete some record, what is the best strategy?
Why are there admin and frontend settings, listings and permissions?
In V3 it was possible to assign permissions to a single user. And in V4?

A tutorial would be of great help. ;-)

Thank you

Hi maxx,

I'm not very familiar with CCv4 but I think that the Admin optiosn are used to display listings in the Site admin (like the Data viewer in CFv3) and the Front_end listings are for the 'normal' front-end displays.

I think that in Joomla! 2.5 you can assign new user groups so to give permissions to one user you'd create a new user group and assing them to it.
