Text Editing

How do I edit text in a form? When I make changes in the email template tab the changes never go live. Thanks in advance.

Hi kdtighe,

Do you mean text in your Form HTML or text in the Email template?

When I go to the email templates tab for the form I want to edit I can apparently edit anything in the template but the changes don't show on the live form.

I believe I need to access a file via FTP to make edits. If so, I can't remember or cannot find the file to edit.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi kdtighe,

The Email template is just the template for the email. Changes there don't affect anything else.

If you want to edit the Form HTML then it depends which version you have and how the form is set up.

ChronForm 3. What other info can I give you?

Hi kdtighe,

You can use Wizard Edit if the form was created with the Wizard and there have been no other changes. Or you can edit the Form HTML directly on the Form Code tab - click the Form HTML [+/-] link to open the box.

Hi Bob,

I do not know if the form was created with Wizard. The person who created the form is no longer available.

I tried to edit using the "HTML source editor" but the edits do not show on the live version. I can copy and paste the HTML code if anyone thinks that might help debugging the problem.

Thanks, Kevin

I just understood what you wrote here! The email template is for the email I receive when the form is filled out! So to clarify the edits ARE taking place on the received email.

What I need to know is how to edit the form as it appears to the person filling out the form.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Kevin,

Make a backup copy of the form (there may be a Form Backup icon in the Forms Manager toolbar if you have a recent version of ChronoForms).

What chenges do you need to make? You can try them out with Wizard Edit on a copy of the form.

Thanks but the form was apparently not originally created with Wizard. As mentioned earlier I think the form has to be edited using FTP access but I just can't locate the file. I'm still working on it!

Max at the Chrono Team solved it for me! See here:

"Aha, then it was not created using the wizard, you may edit the form raw html code under the edit page > Code tab > HTML code box (click the (+/-) link to open the box)."

Thanks Max!!!

Hi Kevin,,

Good, - looks a bit like my earlier post

Or you can edit the Form HTML directly on the Form Code tab - click the Form HTML [+/-] link to open the box.

Hi colemjosel ,

Which version of ChronoForms are you using?
You can find the version from Site Admin | Extensions | Install/Uninstall | Components in Joomla! 1.5 or Site Admin | Extensions | Extension Manager | Manage in Joomla! 1.6/1.7/2.5.

If this is CFv4 then it should work if you add this to a Load JS action in the On Load event:
Locale.use('it-IT');
