RC 3.3 can't get started

marklandry 17 Apr, 2012
Hi,
I just installed V4 RC 3.3 for J2.5 - looks like things changed.
I started with basic form wizard, dragged in some fields, added an email, published it, named it, etc, all the things I usually do, but the form won't pull up. It's acting like it does when you don't have an email in place.

A couple of things I noticed. In the last version, default events were auto-added, I'm assuming those events need to be in place for the form to work, but I don't know what they are. I only have an "email" event in my new form.

When I add an email, the email event still says "email (0)" even though everything's set correctly.

If I use the "easy" wizard, the form works fine, but I don't have the "events" option as I did when I used the basic "form wizard." But It looks like I don't have the option to toggle back and forth between "easy" and "advanced.."

Anyway, I'm sure as always that I'm missing something and in need of some hand holding.

Thanx for your help

Hi Mark,

You probably need to drag a Show HTML action into the On Load event of your form. Please see the video 'A First Form' at http://youtube.com/greyheadnet

The [0] after the action name is an serial number assigned by ChronoForms, the Show HTML action will probably be [1]. You can mostly ignore these though they can be useful in controlling actions with Code.

As you've seen the Easy Wizard creates you a form that is 'one with everything' and has many of the basic actions included ecven if they aren't needed.

You can switch from the Easy to the Advanced Wizard OK but going back will lose any changes you made so it's a one-way journey. There is no extra functionality in the Easy Wizard, just a pre-built action set.
