Hello all,
I'm very new to Joomla but I've got that they want to be able to have a online form that will collect a lot of information and the ChronoForms seems perferct for what were wanting. However some of the information they are collecting is highly sensitive and we want to protect this information. They'd prefer to received the form submission via email, however storing it to the database is an option as well. But eitherway it has be done securely.
I see as one of the options in sending the form results can be encrypted, however its also asking for the GPG Encryption Key, but I have no idea where I would find that. Or if the results are emailed how they would decrypt it. They are receiving the emails via MS Exchange so does their Outlook client need to have something added in order to decrypt and read the results?
The second option would be to have the data stored on the server in the database, however unless that is encrypted it wouldn't be a good solution and I didn't notice that was an option, am I over looking that somewhere?
I did search through the forums but pretty much eveything I found was somewhat over my head when it came to PHP code or Javascript coding.
But if I can encrypt the emails that would work just fine, can anyone provide me any information on the GPG Encryption process, how I'm suppose to use that or any other possible solutions?
I'm running Joomla 2.5.2 and the version of ChronoForms is 4.0 RC3.11. I'm also using a RocketTheme template if that has anything to do with anything as well.
I do have a SSL Cert, however that obviously just secures the webpage for the form submission.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,
Sorry, I know very little about this topic. There's a Wikipedia article on PGP here that will give you the basics. Google also found this thread on Outlook plugins for PGP.
I'm sure that you an also encrypt the data to save in a database table in several ways but not something that I have any experience with.
