Verficiation code not working for redirected domains

newstuff 14 Mar, 2012
I am having a problem on one of my sites where I have a contact form setup with verification - if accessed using the main domain name, <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mydomain.com">www.mydomain.com</a><!-- w --> - it works perfectly.

However, the client has a number of domain names redirecting to the same website, essentially - but the domain name is different. Eg, <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mydomain2.com">www.mydomain2.com</a><!-- w --> or <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mydomain3.com">www.mydomain3.com</a><!-- w --> for example - so the URL will changes - and when the form is submitted using the other (not primary) domain name, i get the "You have entered a wrong verification code!" -

I need the form to work regardless of the domain name (this client has a number of redirected URLs in place to their main domain). Is there a workaround for this please?

I am using Joomla 1.5 platform, with Chronoforms 4.0

Hi newstuff,

I don't remember clearly enough how the details of the Image Verification work without digging in he code. I think that in CFv3 they are stored either in a session or a cookie eitehr of which may well be dependent on the current domain. You might try the ReCaptcha but any security device is going to have some difficulties if there is a change of domains between loading the form and checking the results. :-(

Fair enough - I thought that might be the reason. Thanks for getting back so soon - your dedication to helping out is excellent.

I'll try and think of a work-around this end. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be grateful to hear them!
