Save to Different Database

Hi there,

I'm trying to do a newsletter subscription form.
However, I do need to conect to an external database located in the same server.
Once configurated in wizard mode the DB connection, once I try to refresh the tables to select, the message, "DB connection failed" is shown!
Is there any known trouble width this?

Hi j0a0,

You are doing this on the DB Record Loader Advanced tab?

It sounds as though there is a setting wrong, or the database isn't allowing the connection. Try setting the Site Debug on temporarily and you should see a list of all the database calls made on the page. That can give you a clue what the problem is.

Yes, I was trying to do this trought the advanced tab, and seems like the DB in question isn't allowing the connection.

However, I'll not loose any more time width this solucion, once I'm not a master, and may be riscky to wright to an DB that bollongs to another AP(PoMMO).

I'm trying to do the subscription using CURL, should work, no?

Hi j0a0,

Yes, cURL should be good. It's sometimes a bit tricky to get exactly the right parameters passed though. I don't know anyhting about PoMMO or what it needs.
