Installation error

Good Day

Im running Joomla 1.7.1 on one of my servers. I installed the latest Chronoforms version, the plugin, mod and component. The installations were successful, but it's not showing up under the components menu, or the mods when I create a new mod, therefore I cannot create any forms.

Any ideas why?

No, no idea at all. I suggest that you update your site to Joomla! 2.5 and download the latest ChronoForms release CFv4 RC3.1 (released yesterday) and see if that combination works OK. It's running OK here.

Thanks for the reply. I have alot of extensions running on this installation that are not yet compatible with Joomla 2.5, so upgrading would not be the best idea. Also, it workeds fine on some of my other Joomla installations, I poked around but can't see a reason why it's not showing up in the menu of this particular instance. Do you perhaps know of any workarounds to create the forms?

You could try 1.7.4 to get up to date. I'm not aware of any problems particular problem with the latest ChronoForms releases and Joomla! 1.6/1.7/2.5 :-( Nor do I know of any easy way of getting to the ChronoForms admin without the menus working.

Just some feedback. I refreshed my cache under manage extensions, and got errors relating to loading the xml files. After some inspection I realised that I installed the new version without uninstalling the old ones, and this interfered with each other. I promptly removed all traces of chronoforms, and did a fresh installation of the new version of chronoforms, and it now appears to be working and shows up in the menu🙂
