Captcha validation not working correctly

Hi. I have been through the forums but i cannot find an answer to my problem. When i fill out the Captcha incorrectly the validation doesnt work. By that i mean there is no error message and the form still emails the results. If i enter nothing, however, an error message occurs.

[list]The Captcha input element's validation box is checked.
The check Captcha on submit is enabled.
Enable Js validation is set to "Yes"[/list]

Is there anything else i can try?
