Case 'select' default field value not working

Krionis 10 Jan, 2012
Hello,

I have Chronoforms 4.0 RC2.0 installed on Joomla 1.6.3.

I am trying to built a regular form with the wizard.
When I use the 'standard' Selected field I just want the first option ( 1=1 ) checked by default.
When Field Default Value is empty --> none is checked
When Field Default Value is 1 --> also none checked

Thanks in advance
p.s. I saw a similar topic about radio box, but did not figure out how to implement the code for case 'select'

Hi Krionis,

Please upgrade to RC3.0 as I think Max fixed some bugs with the select & checkbox groups.

I have just tested this, in the options box I used:

0=0
1=1
2=2
3=3

And in the "Selected" box I entered "1" and my form is showing "1" selected when loaded!

The thing is when you have only two options like:
0=0
1=1
and set selected to one of them, on page load selected works fine, but if you click submit button, nothing happens.
Only after choosing second option and one more time choose "selected" you can submit. (in case of required field).
My solution for now is to set that field to non required. In that case the page loading selected option and I can submit instantly.

And one more question is about errors messages. How can I set them to display for a few second? Or better to automatically close them after user goes to highlighted field.

And one moreπŸ™‚

On Ipad when page is zoomed in, in case one of required field is empty, when submit button clicked the page goes to left top corner and I need to zoom out to see the error message. How can I set it to point on error message but not on left corner.

P.S. Big thanks for Your help!

Hi Krionis,

I have added a fix for the 0/1 values in the new version (not out yet), please make sure that you update when its out, hopefully in the next few hours. (V4 RC3.1)

Unfortunately hiding the error tip is not something included in the validation library by default, I can add it, but I don't think its needed very badly ?πŸ™‚

I didn't test on IPAD so I have no idea, but with zoom and this stuff, I would expect that it won't be perfect.
