Not Receiving Sent Emails

laylaab 26 Dec, 2011
I have used chronoforms with no issues until attempting to install on this domain:

http://www.royalpaws.com/index.php?option=com_chronoforms&chronoform=PetTransportRequest

the debugger states that an email is successfully being sent, but I am not receiving it. Previously it WAS functioning. This exact form is running on the same host (but different server) with no problems, and I have been over & over the settings

-to & from emails have been changed (I have tried different combos),
-I have even uninstalled chronoforms and started over.
-Yes email is enabled in chronoforms.
-The joomla global configuration address is the domain

...at this point I'm lost as to what to look for.

I can not even get a test form to run correctly with a single text box and no validation. I contacted the server and was told that the non-functioning form was being sent from an email that was not a "trusted user" as there was a gmail account in the chronoform settings, and changed the gmail addresses to a domain account...but I do not understand this as a gmail account had been being used and sending emails just fine previously.

can anyone advise me as to what else to check? I'm at the point of having to give up on Chronoforms for this site, but I do know it works and much prefer it over other form scripts. Hopefully I've just gone completely daft and am missing some small setting.

thank you for your time,
Karyl

Hi Karyl,

Hard to say, it sounds to me as though the mail server on the site may not be correctly configured. The 'Successfully SENT' message says that ChronoForms has passed the email to the Joomla! mailer and received an OK message back. Unforunately the mailer messages aren't always reliable.

sorry for the delay in responding. I did fix this and it was certainly not an error with the form. The server would not accept mail from any domain except the account primary domain as royalpaws.com is an add on. No idea why. Fine in this case as the same person owns both the primary and add on domains however not good in a reseller or developer hosting situation. I have NOT run into this issue with chronoforms, it works fine in similar situations on other servers. This host is having a few (dozen) tiny issues of late even though I haven't had problems with them in years.

However, it may be good for another viewer to know if they run across a similar situation. Try the base account domain.
