CAPTCHA Images in IE7 broken

tschoch 09 Dec, 2011
Hi Guys,

Just implemented V4 RC2.0 in Joomla 1.6 and I see that IE7 cannot display the captcha images. It works great in all >7 browsers as well as FF an Chrome. It looks like it's generating a base64 encoded data:URI and IE7 natively does not support base64 encoded...

Is there a workaround for this?

Hi tschoch,

You can disable the "Encoded image" setting under the "Load Captcha" action configuration, this will use the old way to load the image which should work fine on all versions.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I was using "Easy Mode" so I didn't have that option. Once I switched to advanced I see it now.

Thanks!
