How to set Dynamic Reply to Address

genei09 05 Dec, 2011
Using rc2 and joomla 1.7

I've got the form setup and emails do go out, but the reply to address never includes the email address of the person filling out the form. The correct form name was used with and without {}. The information is in the body of the email, but not being able to simply hit reply is terribly inconvenient.

This is the last bit of functionality I need before making it look "pretty"

Hi,

What do you have in the "Dynamic Reply to address" field ? and what's the field name of the "Email" field in your form ?

Hi genei09,

This works OK on my test site.

The Dynamic boxes should not have brackets or quotes in them; and it may cause a problem if you use the same Email To and Email From address.

There is a Joomla! bug with the Reply To code. Please see this post for a fix.

This is deffinately a bug with Joomla itself. I have three separate client sites on 1.7.3 and all contact forms behave this way. I tried applying the fix detailed in your link, but it didn't change anything. I will have to continue to research the issue.
