I cannot get it to install, on a clean Joom1.5RC3.
I've seen manual install mentioned here, how do I?
contents of zip do not make this clear.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Hi Doug,
Installations should be completely normal from the Joomla installer. Please check that you have the J1.5 version of ChronoForms.
You can do a manual install by following the Joomla instructions

You can do a manual install by following the Joomla instructions
To Install From a Directory:
If you don't have GZip support, you must unpack the zipped file onto your local drive before uploading it. Unzip the archive into a folder on your local drive and upload the unpacked archive files to your host's server. Type the location of this file (it must be the absolute location) then click the 'Install' icon.

Hi again still no luck now getting:
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::chmod: Bad response
* Component Install: Failed to create directory: "/customersites/9/home/httpd/vhosts/stationtaxisltd.co.uk/httpdocs/cms/components/com_chronocontact"
have checked permissions (777) any ideas, or link to full manual instructions?
Thanks again

Hi Doug,
This looks like some kind of setup problem. Maybe something to do with the FTP on vhosts?? Out of my area of knowledge I'm afraid.
Can you install other components OK? (ChronoForms is pretty standard so I imagine that others would also fail.)
Scratches head . . . could also be something about ownership of the folder under vhosts - though 777 ought ro be Ok with this).

I can't seem to install chronoform as well. It prompts an error like this.
* JInstaller::install: SQL Error. DB function failed with error number 2006
MySQL server has gone away SQL=DELETE FROM `jos_components` WHERE `option` = 'com_chronocontact';
SQL =
DELETE FROM `jos_components` WHERE `option` = 'com_chronocontact';

Hi reneechung,
"MySQL server has gone away" is most often an ISP problem. There's a page here at the MySQL site that talks about the most likely causes.
You could try dropping the old table manually using PHPMyAdmin and see if that works any better (won't necessarily help the installation though).

hi bob,
Thanks for replying. The problem is i can't find the table in the database. I've tried installing other components and it seem to work. I've already emailed my provider and hopefully there is a solution to this. Thanks.

Hi reneechung,
A bit weird, but can you try adding a dummy entry to jos_components (just a unique id and an option value of com_chronocontact should do it). Perhaps having something to delete will make it feel happier?

I've tried it but it doesn't work. 😟
Hi reneechung,
See message #5 here - it appears to add some code to the Joomla installer to check the connmection.
