When I select Backup to Excel, I get a new blank page with garbledy-goop:
It looks to me like the file is trying to be opened in Firefox rather than allowing me to save or open the Excel file.
When using IE7, selecting Backup to Excel dumps me back to the admin control panel without opening the Excel file.
This behavior (return to the admin control panel) also occured on my previous, now solved (thanks, Bob) issue with creating a table. Any thoughts on this one? Thanks.

Hi stu,
As usual, I've no idea why this should happen - but I wonder if the two aren't linked in some way. Something odd is happening with the database interface.
Please take a Backup of the form and email it to me just to check that that's OK on my server.
Oh and which version of Joomla are you running?
Bob

Thanks, Bob,
Unfortunately I can't save forms either (error screenshot attached).
I get the same results with saving forms and exporting data to Excel with both Joomla 1.0.12 and 1.0.13 online. Additionally, Saving as csv opens the csv file in a browser window. As with my previous issue regarding creating tables, my local copy has no problems with either.
The local version is running:
Joomla 1.0.12 + PHP 4.4.4 + mySQL 4.1.22-max-log
The online version is running:
Joomla 1.0.12 + PHP 4.3.11 + mySQL 4.1.14-nt
I've attached the form backup file from my local copy.
Any ideas on where to go from here? Could it have anything to do with me running Windows locally and Linux online? Thanks again.

I'll try to attach the image and file again.

Hi stu,
Shouldn't be a Linux problem - ChronoForms mostly runs on Linux servers. Could be something about file and folder ownership on your site setup. Are you with GoDaddy or is that my imagination?

Hi stu,
Not specifically, though I hear some stories that they have security buttoned up very tight.
It looks as though all of your on-line problems are around writing files so I wonder if there is something getting in the way. Possibly you don't have full ownership of the folders?
This is out of my comfort zone so I'm pretty much groping in the dark here, sorry.
Bob
PS Your form works fine on my local setup (as it does on yours), the only thing I spotted was that imageverification was on but there was no image shown. I don't think that has anything to do with the other problems though.

All my folders are writeable by Joomla (0755 permissions).
Sorry about the imageverification. I backed up the form before I removed the imageverification. You're right, it didn't change anything.
Do you know of any other resources I could tap to sort out these issues? ChronoForms is exactly what I'm looking for, but it's currently requiring some significant workarounds for me.

Hi Max,
Yes, except that I can actually read it. It appears that when trying to back up the form, it also tries to open in the browser instead of downloading. Any thoughts?

Hi Stu,
Sorry for the delay, If it does this then I think this is a server issue, it even happens sometimes with the PHPmyadmin export, please ask your host about this!
Cheers
