Troubles using forms in J1.5

mariokrupik 01 Dec, 2007
Hi,

after quite a while, I finally got some time to update my website.
I am running J 1.5 Rc3 since it came out to public with chronoforms 2.3.4 in legacy mode. Everything worked fine, except for the form validation.
Today I upgraded to the J 1.5 Version of Chronoforms, I backed up my forms, uninstalled chronoforms, installed the 2.5 Rc, and restored the forms.

Now the frontend works fine, but in the backend, as soon as i try to edit a form I get a blank screen.
I am glad that I don`t really need to edit anything at those forms.
Another thing I recogniced is that the form validation is still not working.

Here`s my website.

thanks for this great component,

Mario

Hi Mario,

Regarding the blank page issue, Some users already face this issue which I think its 90% a Joomla 1.5 RC3 issue to be fixed not a ChronoForms issue, there is a fix here but the page won't be very tidy:

#2- Regarding the verification, do you have "Session handler" set to "None" at the Global config of your website ?

Cheers

Hi Max,

thanks for your reply. About the first issue, it solved the Problem, except that I changed it back again, because as soon as you open the Form all entries on the input fields except for the forms itself will get erased.

#2- The Session Handler didn`t solve the Problem. Just to make sure, I am not talking about the image verification. I am trying to get the form validation to work.

I tried it with brackets ex: {name}, {land}, ...
and without ex: name, land, ...

Still not working.

I will give it a try on a testsite with a simple form in Rc3 and will reply later.

thanks,
Mario

Hi Mario,

Please look at that post again, there is an update about the hack, regarding the validation, please try the fields without any spaces between : eg: name, email, text

Cheers
