form doesn't display

httpgrrl 20 Nov, 2007
Greetings all,

I just installed the Chrono Form and created a new test form following the basic form online tutorial. When I click on the link next to the newly created form a new page fires up but is blank. I gave the form a name, filled in the From and Reply email address'. I used the very basic code from the tutorial for the Form HTML.

Any ideas why the form does not display? I am very new to Joomla so I might be missing some important steps...

Any help would be appreciated.

Advance Thanks!

Hi httpgirl,

No, the form should display OK. If it shows a blank page then there's probably a typo in your code that is breaking the PHP parser.

You can download a copy of the basic form from the Announcements thread here. Restore that and make sure that it works OK. If you can't spot any errors in your form please take a backup, post it here and I'll take a look.

Hi! I appreciate the quick response. I did use the form you suggested using the Restore feature but still no luck.

I created a new menu item. I am running Joomla 1.5. I chose "Chrono Contact" under the Menu Item Type. I typed in the form name "test_form" under Parameters - Basic -> Form Name. The page comes up blank. Also, when I clicked on the test_form link within ChronoForms Forms Manager, I still receive a blank page.

I have not seen others on this forum having blank page/no display issues so I wonder what I am doing wrong !?!

Hi httpgrrl,

Hmmm . . . that form is so simple it *should* work with pretty much any install.

Is this a new site? I wonder if there's a problem with the path setup in config. Please can you copy and paste here the link that shows up in the Forms Manager page?

If your site is online then it may help if we can login and take a look but let's look at the link first.

I get exactly the same issue with Joomla RC 1.5

Hi bartvbeek,

I've just downloaded the test from from here into a new install of Joomla 1.5 RC5 and the link from the Forms Manager works perfectly.

Please paste the link that you are getting here. It should be like
http://example.com/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=test_form
