I am interested in using chrono for my form work. However, one of the first things we want to do is to put a very small form into the side of the screen (in one of the user regions) similar to the login form in Joomla.
(I will add we are working with Joomla 1.5)
I can't see how to do this from the examples, and searching the forums I can't find anything either.
Is there a way to embed the chrono form into one of these user regions?

Post edited by: dmtcons, at: 2007/11/12 12:54

Hi dmtcons,
The sideboxes are 'modules' in Joomla-speak. At the moment (if I remember correctly) ChronoForms doesn't work in modules. I think Max was working on this but the Joomla 1.5 version took priority and I know that he's been very busy recently.

I suspected as much. Wondering if anyone else has managed to put a chronoform into a module?
I've been looking at "Learning Joomla 1.5 extension development" and it seems achievable, but my php is pretty rudimentary. Any tips from people who have done it before would be great.

Hi dmtcons,
Max is really the person to do it as he understands all the wrinkles. Maybe he'll post some thoughts here.

Talk about service with a smiley!:woohoo:
If you would like someone to help test it out, I am happy to oblige. We have a prod site running 1.5 and it has prototype areas for this kind of spiking to occur in. Keen to try out my form in a module and get it running sooner rather than later.
That said, I am on holidays for the next week or so  , and will be as far from a computer as I can physically get after Friday, so no immediate rush.

Hi dmtcons,
Nothing more from Max on this but there is now a good workaround using another extension - see this FAQ

Hi dmtcons,
No, probably not, though there is a beta (or alpha?) version of the Content Item extension you could experiment with.
