Replace 404 Error Page With Thank You and Redirect

ibellows 18 Nov, 2011
Hello,

I am trying to set up a new form on my Joomla website. It is functional, but displays a 404 error after submission instead of redirecting to my home page like I specified. How would I go about setting up a thank you message and redirection using HTML with an already-completed form?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi ibellows,

What URL does it show when you see the 404 message? This coud be a typo, or sometimes a problem with SEF URLs.

I am having the same problem here. You can see the form here:
http://programatecnologiasi.org/index.php?option=com_chronoforms&view=form&Itemid=222

When you click submit takes you to this page:
http://programatecnologiasi.org/index.php?option=com_chronoforms&view=form&Itemid=222&chronoform=contacto&event=submit

Displays an error message 404 and never sends the email.

I also tried to add a captcha to the form and never got it working.

I am using Chronos 4.0 RC3 in Joomla 1.5.23 (yes, I know... still the old one...)

Can anybody help me? It is my first time with Chronos and I am not understandign it at all... =(

Hi lienime,

Ah. I found the problem. You have given the dropdown 'Elige una opción' the name 'option'. Joomla uses 'option' to identify components and it gets confused if the name is used for a form input. Please rename this form input to option_x (or something else) and all should be well.
